Famous Sports Association List

 This is a list international sports federations, all of which functions as an unofficial governing body that governs a given sport and administers its sport on a world level, most often crafting rules for the sport, promoting it to potential fans and spectators or developing future players and organizing world or continental championships. Certain sports federations in the world, like that of International Swimming Federation and the International Skating Union, may regulate multiple activities, which are often referred to in common parlance as separate sports: FINA also regulates swimming diving, synchronised swimming and water polo, as distinct "disciplines" within the single "sport" of Aquatics.
 
 International sports federations constitute an integral element in the Olympic and Paralympic movements. Each Olympic sports is represented through its international sports federation. They assists in coordinating the competitions in the sports during Games. To become an Olympic sport and its international sports federation must be recognised as such by the International Olympic Committee.
 
 
 In the same way, an international sport federation must be recognized through the International Paralympic Committee to allow their sport to be classified as a paralympic sport, though in the latter case, several Paralympic Sports are overseen by a specific commission of International Paralympic Committee and not under the World Para branding, for example track and field athletics that is for disabled athletes is administered by the IPC and its designation "World Para Athletics". Other Paralympic sports are managed within the framework of the able-bodied counterpart such as the UCI governs both ablebodied and paralympic cycling.
